Railways enforce new security measures

General Manager Railways Dr. Lalithasiri Gunaruwan says special program has been prepared for the security of train passengers. The Railways Protection Force, Police and Security Forces are to work together to make sure that safety of the Railways is ensured.

These special security precautions include sudden security checks on passengers. The General Manager told SLBC that passengers could personally inform any shortcoming in the railway service through the telephone number 077 3171448.

The General Manager said that hereafter permission would not be granted to construct roads across railway tracks.

Collision at Kosgoda

Meanwhile it has been reported that train transport on the coastal line between Aluthgama & Matara was disrupted this morning due to a bus container collision at Kosgoda.
