Trains limited to Polonnaruwa after derailment

The Railway Control Room has notified that the Batticaloa bound 7:15 PM Intercity Express and the 10:00 PM Night Mail have been curtailed to Polonnaruwa after a Train derailment near Batticaloa.

The railway services are expected to be back to normal tomorrow.

The railway lines in these parts are poorly maintained and the Railway Department has due to shortages has double-spaced the sleepers between Vaalaichenai and Batticaloa.
