Updated with new special Train information! (Batticaloa)

The Sri Lanka Railways (SLR) will introduce special train services for the Sinhala and Hindu New year. In addition to the normal trains the new trains will run from April 11 to 21.

Speaking to The Morning Leader Train Controller (Arrangements) Nihal Fernandez said there will be some short distance trains and intercity express trains introduced specially for the Sinhala and Hindu New Year.

According to Fernandez the train times and dates are given below.

Colombo Fort to Bandarawela on April 11, 13 and 19 – Leaving 8.40 a.m – arrival 16.40 p.m.

Bandarawela to Colombo Fort on April 12, 14 and 20 – Leaving 8.30 a.m – arrival 16.48 p.m.

Colombo Fort to Bandarawela on April 10 and April 11 – Leaving 19.20 p.m – arrival 3.25 a.m.

Banadarawela to Colombo Fort on April 11 and April 12 – Leaving 7 a.m – arrival 14.55 p.m.

Colombo Fort to Hatton on April 10, 11, 12 and 19 – Leaving 21.00 p.m – arrival 2.30 a.m.

Hatton to Colombo Fort on April 10, 11, 12 and 19 – Leaving 21.00 p.m – arrival 2.00 a.m.

Kandy Intercity Express from Colombo Fort to Kandy on April 11, 12 and 20 – Leaving 11.45 a.m – arrival 14.25 p.m.

Intercity Express from Kandy to Colombo Fort on April 11, 12 and 20 – Leaving 11.25 a.m – arrival 14.20 p.m.

Colombo Fort to Rambukkana on April 11 – Leaving 9.15 a.m – arrival 11.10 a.m.

Rambukkana to Colombo Fort on April 11 – Leaving 11.20 a.m – arrival 13.00 p.m.
