UDA takeovers CGR land for development
The Urban Development Authority is to be vested with CGR land in Nawalapitiya for the development of a shopping complex. The decision was taken at a progress review meeting held at the UDA. The matter of allocating the finished units in the proposed shopping complex was also discussed in the said meeting.
The proposed shopping complex is to be constructed by the Urban Development Authority on the CGR land taken over in Nawalapitiya.
When the shopping complex development project is completed, the Urban Development Authority will hand it over to the Nawalapitiya Urban Council for the allocation of shop units. Subsequently the Nawalapitiya Urban Council will manage and maintain the shopping complex.
The meeting chaired by the Minister of Power (Mahindananda Aluthgamage), was attended by the Chairman of the Nawalapitiya Urban Council, officers of the Department of Railways and the Urban Development Authority.
