Contaminated water found at Polgahawela
It is reported that the drinking water in Polgahawela Railway Station canteen is contaminated with night soil.
Public Health Inspector, Manjula Amarawickrema said samples of water were tested by microbiologists to find a high rate of bacteria in water. At present, the preparing of meals in the canteen has been suspended and only the supply of meals brought from outside allowed. The PHI said legal action would be taken against the canteen contractor soon.
