Coastal line signal system upgraded

Train fares up from june

Train fares will be increased from June 1 to offset the current diesel price hike, Transport Minister Dullas Alahapperuma said.
Addressing the media yesterday, Minister Alahapperuma said an evaluation of the fare increase will be done soon.

Bomb blast inside Panadura Train

A powerfull bomb has exploded inside the Panadura bound train at Dehiwala. The explosion occured around 16:55 when the powerset was pulling out of the Dehiwala Station. The police assume the bomb had been placed on the 5th carriage overhead storage rack of the S9 Powerset.
At least 7 people were killed and around 62 injured in the explosion. [...]
