Trains collide at Ganemulla station
A train collision has been reported from Ganemulla. The Fort-Polgahawela train has been parked at the station when the Fort-Kandy intercity train had arrived and collided from behind, damaging the last compartment of the parked train, according to eye witnesses. Sixteen persons are reported injured and dispatched to hospital. One male has been reported dead.
Railways Control Room says train services will run normally. and said Kandy bound intercity train and slow train heading to Meerigama had collided at Ganemulla at about 4:00 p.m.
