A spokesman of the Railway Department said a 24 hour-special train service will be operative to provide transport to commuters during this period. These special train services are due to leave for several destinations from Colombo.

Special train services will be operated between Colombo and Hatton during the current festive season, according to the Sri Lanka Railways.

The special train will leave Colombo Fort at 9 p.m. and reach Hatton at 2.27 a.m. the following day. The train from Hatton will leave at 9 pm and reach Colombo at 2 am the following day.

These services will be operative from December 24 to December 28.
