Iran ready to develop Lankan railway
Deputy Minister of Road and Transportation and Managing Director of Iran’s Rail Road said Iran is ready to cooperate with Sri Lanka on construction and development of railway there.
To follow the signed agreements between the two countries in the year of 2008, Hassan Ziari discussed the issue of cooperation on rail transportation with his Sri Lankan counterpart here Wednesday.
In the meeting, the Lankan official made a request on construction of railway and providing transportation equipment from Iran.
The Iranian side by expressing readiness for cooperation in this field asked for a report of feasibility study on determined routes by Sri Lankan government.
