The SLR’s web site developed jointly by SLR and ICTA (Information and communication Agency of Sri Lanka) provides valuable and timely information about Sri Lanka’s Train operations to the general public.

It extends following information and services.

The information about train times and railway fairs needed by general public to plan their journeys.
Information about special passenger services provided by SLR.
Goods and Parcel transportations by Rail and how such services can be obtained.
Railway Tenders and downloading Railway Tender documents
Downloading Railway forms required for obtaining Railway Services.
Information about Train delays
Sending e.mail to Railway giving suggestions and making complains.

The web site can be accessed using www.railway.gov.lk and the train time table information can be accessed through mobile phones using www.wap.railway.gov.lk

This website which will be very useful to general public, will be declared open by the Hon. minister of Transport, Dalas Alahapperuma at 09.30 a.m on 09-03-2009
