Railways earn Rs. 378m income from season ticket sales

Transport Minister Dullas Alahapperuma told Parliament yesterday that the Sri Lanka Railways have earned an income of Rs. 224 million from the monthly season tickets during August, September and October 2008.

The Minister said the income of Rs. 71 million, Rs. 76 million and Rs. 76 million for August, September and October in 2008 was 23.1 percent, 26.9 percent and 29.3 percent of the total income received by the Sri Lanka Railways from passenger transport during these three months. (UK and IR)
