Special trains on A’pura line for Madhu feast
Trains Controller Nihal Fernandez yesterday said, that two special trains would be operated from Negombo to Medawachchiya on Wednesday (Aug.12th) and Friday (Aug.14th) for the benefit of people attending the Madhu feast. He told The Island that on both days the trains will leave Negombo at 7.45 a.m. and reach Medawachchiya at 1.45 pm.
According to him, another train would leave Moratuwa in Thursday (Aug.13th) at 7.50 a.m.
He said that the Railways Department would deploy two special trains for the benefit of people returning to the South on Saturday (Aug. 15th). They will leave Medawachchiya for Negombo at 3.15 p.m. and 4.45 p.m. while another would be operated on the following day at 4.45 p.m. He said that normal services on the Anuradhapura line, too, had been strengthened to facilitate the movement of people to and from the northern area.
