Intercity delayed by Elephants
The Intercity Express train from Colombo Fort to Vavuniya was delayed Wednesday night due to a herd of wild elephants on the track at Srawasthipura in Anuradhapura, railway officials said.

The residents of the area had helped to drive away the herd.
The control unit of the Anuradhapura railway station confirmed the delay of the night intercity train to Vavuniya on Wednesday at Srawasthipura due obstruction caused by the wild elephants.
