Now Galukumari leaves from Maradana at 2.15p.m instead of1.40p.m. So school children have to wait a long time. Therefore most of them can’t attend their Classes in time as before. If the train starts at 1.50p.m all the school children can go without delay. If it is not possible to change the time please start Aluthgama train at 1.45p.m instead of 2.05pm.
       A group of school Children

This third platform is a travellers' nightmare !!. It ha no connection with the main Peradeniya junction station. Travellers have to enter the station with bag and baggage and climb hills and descend hills, to approach this so called platform. There are no canopies to protect them from Rain, insufficient platform length for boarding.

This once again is a typical idiotic design of Sri Lanka Railways to harass passengers and discourage train travel.

Sorry, I cannot agree with the write up above, it was obviously written by somebody, who just saw the novelty, but not its practicality.

Investors expect a realistic return. Social benefits will not pay the bill. The number of users of such a "luxury" airport link will be smal. This dream is another dead borne child. What is needed, is a normal train link to Katunayake with conventional fares for those commuters, who travel daily up and down for works. This phantastic dream will rest in cookoos home.

It is a better thing to do, but this should be extended up to the Anuradhapura. Current railway line from maho to Anuradhapuara is in very bad situation and it takes 1.20 hours even for the intercity express train to travel between this small distance. Northern area people are currently traveling via buses and it will be changed in the future due to development of the northern railway line. It is better to do feasibility study from polgahawela to Anurdhapura dual line. because of construction of this line might take 4 5 years to complete. other wise at the time of completion you may need to do another feasibility study for Maho - Anuradhapura dual track.

Loco Drivers should be aware, that they are sitting in the S11 Front Cabin on a "DEATH CHAIR" on colission with a heavy object. And they should drive this D(E)MU accordingly carefully. A German Railway Expert had already warned in July 2011 a S11 Loco Driver in presence of witnesses at Matara Station, that he will killed "TWICE" in this Polymer/Plastic Cabin on colission with a heavy object: 1. by the impact and 2. by the debris of the disintegrating Glasfibre-Plastic acting like scrabnells and by the intruding crash objects. This happened few weeks later at Alawwa. The Expert suggsted to refurbish step by step all Indian build S11 with a solid Steel Front cabin well connected to the body frame of the M9 design. Perhaps this alteration can be executed by Colombo Dockyard.
