Matara goods train derails at Kataluwa

A goods train derailed at Ahangama near Kataluwa on the coastal line this evening at around 3.15pm. The derailment occurred when two goods wagons jumped the rails. The goods train was heading from Galle towards Matara. Derailment inconveniences New Year passengers

The Colombo-Badulla express train was derailed between Galabada and Watawala on Thursday night. Six passenger carriages had jumped the rails, CGR’s Operating Superintendent Nalaka Bandara said.
