Rs. 4 billion needed to renovate of Sri Lanka’s Northern rail track

Sri Lanka transport officials have estimated that nearly Rs. 4 billion is needed for the renovation of the Northern rail track which has severely damaged due to the war in the past decade.

Yal Devi train once again limited to Medawachchiya

Sri Lanka Railway Department has decided to limit the Vavuniya bound “Yal Devi” train once again to Medawachchiya, border city of the North Central Province.

Sri Lanka railways revamp schedule on commuter appeals
Sri Lanka’s cash strapped state-run railway utility has revamped its schedule from Saturday, following requests from ‘commuter associations’, officials said.
