Indian help for railway sector

Matara goods train derails at Kataluwa

A goods train derailed at Ahangama near Kataluwa on the coastal line this evening at around 3.15pm. The derailment occurred when two goods wagons jumped the rails. The goods train was heading from Galle towards Matara. Two people were killed when the three wheeler they were travelling in was knocked down by the Matara bound Ruhunu Kumari express train from Colombo at the unprotected railway crossing at Katugoda, Galle.
